The setting of Lausanne is extremely picturesque: it is hardly surprising that the International Olympic Committee has been based here since 1914. The town is built on three hills, surrounded by vineyard-covered slopes, with Lake Geneva at its feet.

Stroll through the terraced vineyards of Lavaux, a UNESCO world heritage site, and about the specificities of this region's grape varieties and wines.

Don your chef's hat at the Alimentarium in Vevey, the world’s first-ever food-themed museum, and get cooking in a cookery workshop where you will be able to put your skills to good use.

The Salt Mines of Bex are a vast underground labyrinth where salt continues to be mined for consumption today. Take a ride on the miners' train and discover the most spectacular and the most characteristic elements of the various mining techniques.
